Walker Roberts

image of Walker holding owlWalker Roberts, a 2014 alumna of the animal and nutritional sciences program, has known for years that she wants to be a veterinarian.

She transferred to WVU prior to her junior year from a small liberal arts college where the only veterinary related major was biology.

However, WVU gave her access to many animal-related courses that would help prepare her for veterinary school.

While at WVU, Roberts taught educational events at the Avian Conservation Center of Appalachia and worked as an emergency technician at Cheat Lake Animal Hospital.

Roberts was accepted to and is currently enrolled at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine.

She hopes to work in a zoo or wildlife medicine, but her dream job is to work at the National Aviary in Pittsburgh.
