Karina Walker of Grantsville, Maryland, was one of only 34 students to be named a 2014 WVU Foundation Outstanding Senior.
She graduated in 2013 with a degree in human nutrition and foods and in 2015 with a master’s degree in nutrition and food science.
She also plans to pursue her goal of becoming a Registered Dietitian.
“Food has always interested me, but I never really thought it would be a part of my future career until I registered for a Human Nutrition and Foods 171 course,” she said.
“After the first couple of classes I was hooked. I am fascinated with the many ways food can affect our bodies.”
